How training works

Your road to opening night

Footlights trains you the way professional casts train. Every class builds toward one goal: a full production, with your name in the program.

  1. Audition and get castEvery student auditions and every student is cast, so you know your role and exactly what you’re working toward.
  2. Train with working professionalsWorkshops in singing, acting and movement with coaches who work in the industry, plus guest artists from across the Philippines. You learn the techniques working performers rely on.
  3. Rehearse like a real companyRead-throughs, music rehearsals, blocking and choreography, then tech and dress rehearsals. You see how a professional show comes together, and build the teamwork and discipline it takes.
  4. Take the stageCostumes on, lights up, family and friends in the seats. A professional crew runs lights and sound, so you can focus on your performance.
