Getting started

Do I need any experience to start?

No. Whether you’re a complete beginner or coming back to music after years away, your coach starts from where you are and builds from there.

What ages do you teach?

One-on-One Vocal Technique is for ages 4 and up. Own the Room group classes are for ages 4 to 18, in three age groups. Footlights, our musical theatre program, is open to kids, teens and adults ages 6 and up.

Should I choose group classes or private lessons?

Own the Room suits singers who enjoy learning with others and want regular practice performing. One-on-One suits singers preparing for auditions or performances, working on a specific problem, or wanting a coach’s full attention. You can also do both. Not sure? Start with a trial.

What styles of singing do you teach?

Bel canto and musical theatre are our core specialties. We also teach pop and contemporary singing, built on the same healthy classical foundation.

Do you offer instrumental lessons?

Yes. Octave Lab offers piano, ukulele and drum lessons. See instrumental lessons.

Trial sessions

How do trial sessions work?

Choose a 30-minute One-on-One trial lesson for ₱1,000, or join one regular Own the Room class for ₱800 on a date with a free seat. You pick the time or class date and pay online when you book your trial.

How many trials can I book?

One trial of each kind per student.

Can I change my trial date?

You can move a One-on-One trial from your booking link up to 24 hours before it starts. For an Own the Room trial class, reply to your confirmation email and we’ll help you find another date.

What happens after the trial?

Your confirmation email links to the next step: a One-on-One training plan, or Own the Room enrollment. Your coach can also recommend which program fits best.

One-on-One lessons

How do the training plans work?

One-on-One is a continuous training program. Weekly Training is 5 sessions, once a week, valid for 6 weeks from your first lesson. Accelerated Training is 8 sessions, twice a week, valid for 5 weeks. You choose all your lesson times when you book.

How long is each lesson?

Lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes. We recommend 30 minutes for ages 4 to 7, 45 minutes for ages 8 to 11, and 60 minutes for ages 12 and up, but you can choose the length that suits the student.

Can I add an extra lesson?

Yes. You can add up to 2 additional sessions to a plan when you book, as long as they fall within the plan’s dates. Current students can also book a single additional session on its own.

How do I reschedule a lesson?

Use the private booking link in your confirmation email to move a lesson to any open time within your plan, up to 24 hours before it starts. Lessons cancelled with less notice, or missed, count as used.

What happens if my coach cancels?

The session goes back into your plan, and your plan is extended by 7 days so you can rebook.

What if I can’t use all my sessions?

Unused sessions expire when your plan ends. For illness or emergencies, message us as soon as you can. We can extend a plan once, by up to 7 days.

Own the Room

When are the classes?

Ages 4 to 5 meet once a week on Saturdays, at 10:00 or 11:00 AM. Ages 6 to 12 meet on Wednesdays and Fridays, 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Ages 13 to 18 meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 to 6:30 PM. The older groups attend both days each week.

How big are the classes?

Each class takes up to six students, so your coach can give everyone attention.

How does monthly tuition work?

Each payment covers 30 days, starting from your first class. A few days before your month ends, we’ll email you a link to pay for the next one.

What happens if we miss a payment?

We hold your spot for 3 days after the due date. After that, it’s released so another singer can join. You’re welcome to enroll again if there’s room.

Can my child take private lessons too?

Yes. You can pair Own the Room with One-on-One Vocal Technique for extra individual attention.

Footlights

Does everyone get a role?

Yes. Every student who enrolls auditions and is cast in the production.

How much time does Footlights take?

Classes and rehearsals run three times a week, for 3 to 5 hours per session. The full calendar shows every date, so you can plan around school and work.

Can we pay in instalments?

Yes. You can pay the full tuition or split it into 3 instalments. The payment schedule is in the enrollment form.

What if we need to withdraw?

Footlights tuition is non-refundable once you enroll, so please check the calendar before signing up. The full terms are in the enrollment form.

What does tuition include?

All classes and rehearsals, and your main costume. Families provide shoes and any other items we ask for.

When can family and friends buy tickets?

Tickets for The Sound of Music go on sale in January 2027.
